9C1 police, 5.7 LT1 You are viewing what may be the lowest mileage 1994 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 Police Package car left in the world. The LT1 Caprices (and their sister car, the Impala SS) took the world by storm in 1994. It had been nearly 25 years since there had been a police vehicle that would run in the 130+ mph range and these cars not only would do that, they would exceed that...by a wide margin. When tuned correctly, these cars are capable of 150+ mph with no mechanical modifications, whatsoever. Even box stock they would run at 130+ (only due to the computer-limited speed cutoff) and get there very quickly...all the while, handling better than any of their predecessors. This example is a survivor. It was purchased brand-new by a small college in Michigan for use by their criminal justice training center. Before anyone asks...NO, this car was not used for driver training, EVOC, or any type of defensive driving maneuvers. The only thing it was used for was to perform "mock" traffic stops. Basically, training cadets to perform vehicle stops and approaches (those of you with a law-enforcement background will understand). It was also used occasionally by staff to run errands and attend meetings, etc. It was not "garage kept and waxed every other week", nor was it put up on blocks in a climate-controlled garage. It was, however, maintained and used very little. It has not seen exposure to tons of salt, or winter driving, as it wasn't on the road all of the time. It does have some minor corrosion, but it appears very solid. The 1/4 panels are immaculate (one of the first places to go on these cars), as are the trunk extensions, wheelhouses in the trunk area and trunk floor. The floors all appear nice and solid as well. There is one small spot of rust at the lower B-pillar, but it is very minor and, if repaired, will pose no further issues (it is very tiny). There are some surface spots on the front wheelhouses (on top) that need to be cleaned and touched up but, again, very minor. It has a few minor, cosmetic flaws on the exterior, as you can see in the pictures...again, it is not new. To date, this car has only 15.296 actual, documented miles on it. This mileage is GUARANTEED to be true, actual, and correct. This unit was NEVER used for regular police use. This is an excellent example of a very rare and very hard to find car that is not perfect, but very nice and, most importantly, never abused. If you have been waiting for an original, unmolested example of the most iconic police car of it's time...this is it. It is, absolutely one of the nicest I have seen in many years. This is one for the discerning collector or enthusiast. It is not "flawless" but, short of having purchased one brand-new, you will never find one with this low of mileage anywhere. The full 9C1 police package which includes the optional 5.7-liter V8 engine, 4-speed overdrive heavy-duty transmission, 3.08 ratio heavy-duty rear "Posi-Traction" differential, 225-70-15 Cooper Cobra high-performance radials mounted on the factory, heavy-duty, 15" vented police wheels with the original "police" bolt-on center caps, stainless-steel, true dual exhaust, police-spec 4-wheel disc brakes, severe-duty suspension, heavy-duty cooling, certified speedometer, special police oil pressure gauge, and much, much more. Caprices like this one are becoming nearly extinct, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for one of the nicest ones you will ever find, with absurdly low mileage. This unit is in very good condition inside and out and is very clean under the hood as well...the engine compartment is nice and unmolested (please see the pictures). These are the Caprices aficionados lust after, and this is an unmolested example. It is very responsive, smooth-shifting and, of course, very fast. This is a factory, all Bright White car, not a re-painted color change like you will see for sale elsewhere. It is in, overall, very good condition, has been very well-maintained and has little of the normal wear and tear you would expect to find on a used police package vehicle. It has had an exterior light bar installed, but never any markings or decals. This vehicle, as most used vehicles do, will have imperfections...this typically includes; minor scratches, holes from equipment mounting, chips, nicks, dings, scrapes, small dents, etc...that being said, this car has no known mechanical defects other than an ABS light that stays on, an airbag light that comes on occasionally. With perfect specimens trading hands for well over sticker price, they're one of the most stable Chevrolet investments you can make. And if you're just looking for a clean one to drive and enjoy, you won't do better than this clean, unmodified 1996 example. Wearing its factory Dark Gray Green metallic paint (yes, that's the factory name), you can see how straight this Imp really is. Original sheetmetal, straight doors, and very little road rash all contribute to this car's preservation. Having spent its life in the warm, dry southern US, it's very clean underneath with the factory paint now some modest signs of living in the sun, which is probably inevitable. From the blacked-out grille to the unique quarter windows, to the body-color 'Impala SS' badges on the quarters, all the unique Impala features remain in place, giving it the same imposing, sinister look it had when it was new. And even though it's coming up on 25 years old, it looks quite presentable overall; not perfect, but offering a heck of a bargain at this price. The color is hard to reproduce in our studio, but this on eis correct, don't worry, and it's impossible to mistake these big cruisers for anything else on the road. When they styled this one, they got it exactly right. Gray leather was your only choice in an Impala SS, and like the exterior, the upholstery in this one is nicely preserved showing careful use, but no issues. The leather on the driver's seat remains supple with a few "comfort marks" but no split seams or damage, and everything works as it should. The carpets are original so they're showing a few minor signs of age, and they're protected by floor mats that will keep things tidy. The SS offers a full array of instruments, but somehow the instrument panel's lens has gotten cloudy, so it should either be polished or replaced, something that'll remove years of age from the car's appearance. The back seat looks almost completely unused, with cavernous legroom and cool embroidered Impala SS emblems on the seat backs. And, as a full-sized American rear-wheel-drive sedan, you know the trunk is positively cavernous, offering correct mouse fur mats, a cargo net, and a spare tire with its own cover. The Corvette-derived LT1 V8 under the hood is one of GM's best powerplants, and this one shows just 55,713 original miles so it runs quite well and will probably continue to do so for quite some time. Making 260 horsepower in Impala guise, the big car moves like a machine half its size. With meticulous maintenance by just two owners, you can buy this one with confidence, too, and know that it is mechanically excellent.
